How to Create the Primary Menu with the Search Icon

To create menu, go to Appearance > Menus. After creating a menu, set this as ‘Primary Menu’.

But, what about the search icon? It may look something tricky but it is easy.

  • First, take a custom link menu item
  • The URL field: #
  • The ‘Link Text’/’Navigation Label’ field: <i class="fa fa-search"></i>
  • Now you have to add a class to this menu item. To do so, click on ‘Screen Options'(on the top-right corner), check the ‘CSS Classes’ box. You would notice that there is now a field named ‘CSS Classes (optional)’ after the ‘Navigation Label’ field.
  • Now the ‘CSS Classes (optional)’ field: srchbtn. Now just save the menu. That’s it.

Home Page & Blog Page Settings

You may have noticed the home page shows the blog-posts you publish. To use the home page as the front-page, go to – Settings > Reading. In the ‘Your homepage displays’ section, click one the ‘A static page (select below)’ radio button. Then easily select the home and the blog page like the image below:

How to Add Social Media Widget

You are maybe concerned about the social media icons in the footer area that you noticed in the demo-preview. It is very easy as we added a custom social media widget named ‘Restora – Social  Media’. You can use it to show up the social media icons with your profile links very easily. Keep blank the field which you want not to show up in the front-end. Just awesome, right?

And, to make ‘Quick Contacts’ and ‘Open Hours’ widgets, you can just use the text widget like I did.

N.B. Actually, the ‘Social  Media’ widget fits perfectly in the footer area. If you want to use it in the right-sidebar, you may have to add some custom CSS (don’t worry, there is an option in the ‘theme options’ panel to add custom CSS and JavaScript) to this to look more perfect.

How to Upload Logo and Favicon

To upload your logo, go to the ‘Theme Options’ panel and upload like the image below:

To upload favicon, go to Appearance > Customize. Then, Go to the ‘Site Identity’ section and change or remove your Favicon like the images below:
